I had 2 86 Comanchees and now a 90. Replaced u-joints on all front axles, always about 90 thousand mi. Make sure you check the manual for the right way to reconnect that vacuum unit or it may not connect or break something. The bodies always gave trouble before the axles for me. Like jfp said my 86's were made by AMC and the 90 is Chrysler and lot of parts don't change, but the axles were Dana and may. No expert here, it's one tough truck for the size.
