Portable generators

On vacation saw and heard a very quiet Honda portable generator at a neighboring campsite.
On impulse bought a Coleman, B&S engine, rated at 1500 W; experience with a dead travel trailer battery influenced us to buy it. It is, compared to a Honda, NOISEY!
Considering buying the smallest Honda generator made, know they are expensive but probably well worth the money.
Anyone out there had experience with generators of other makes that are quiet? Use around the home place noise is no problem but would like a quiet one for camping. Thanks. PC
