Grease seals on camper trailer wheels

Wheel bearings on a small tent camper trailer. Bearings are fine, grease seals are OK, except that the little springs in the grooves are deteriorated. Don't see any way of removing seals, or dismantling bearing. The bearing is mounted on a sleeve which slides on the axle - and looks like it must be replaced as a unit. All I need are those little springs! Look like they're made of Piano wire, and obviously were there to cause lip of seal to hug the center sleeve of bearing. Right now my only option seems to be frequent greasing! Any suggestions?
