If you"re talking about a 87" Chevrolet Caprice then it should have the 305 chevy small block engine. Pretty easy job except for wedging the timing cover back on. Cut some of the metal lip away and trim the ends of the pan seal a little and use a bunck of ucky pucky. Ultra Black silicone or Ultra red works best for me. Be cafeful to get the timing right as you can be 180 deg. out real easy.
