Ford F350 - Blew running lights

I need a little help with the lights on my 1995 F350 Dually. I hooked up a "new" trailer to my 7-blade RV-style hookup and at first it appeared that the lights were all working fine. I took off down the road, and happened to look back when I put the brakes on at the first intersection and the running lights on my fenders came on dimly when I pushed the brake pedal (I thought...hmmm that's messed up). I went home and pulled the plug and deduced that the ground wire was in the wrong space on the trailer plug (wrong to my truck anyway) but it was too late as none of my rear fender running lights or the set of lights under the tailgate work anymore. I couldn't find a blown fuse that controlled those lights (tail lights still work on the truck too) so I may have fried a wire somewhere? Anyone ever have a similiar problem, and how do I find the cause so I can fix it?
