I have a PZ drum mower that I have had for about 8 or 9 years and love it. I cut Coastal Bermuda hay with it and have not spent a cent on it except for blades. Previously I had a Kuhn disc mower that gave good service too. When I had about wore out the Kuhn and was looking for a replacement I talked with some factory reps at the Sunbelt Expo that year and they sold both drum and disc mowers and they said that the drums would outlast the disc mowers and require less maintenance and upkeep. The other big thing is that the drum mowers are about 40 to 50 percent cheaper too. The only thing is that if you need a wide mower, 7 or 8 ft the disc is about the best way to go because if you get a drum that big it is very heavy to transport and requires a big heavy tractor, and the big drums are about as expensive as a disc mower. PZ was bought out by Vicon I think a few years ago. A neighbor has a Fella mower that I like better than the PZ I have. It is German and is very well made. Many people don't like the drum mowers because they don't spread the hay flat like the disc mowers do but that doesn't bother me since I fluff the hay anyway.

It was an Allis-Chalmers tractor dealership,
