O/T Koler engine rebuild and oil

The manual I have for this engine which is in a bobcat, says to use nondetergent oil for brake in but the olny thing the parts store has is the cheap stuff. I'd prefer to get some of the better brand. Doesn't it really make any differance. All they have is the store brand oil in it, Oriellys brand by the way. I plan to run valvoline 10W-40 in it and would prefer to brake it in with the same brand. I'm I crazy. Would it be ok to use the cheap stuff to start with.
