It's not that big a deal to get one. I received two of them. I called the JD service manager and he contacted the territory rep who in turn sent a form to fill out. It asked for the number stamped in the block-not the casting number- and why you needed a new one. Had to have it notorized and sent back to the rep. It took a while but he and the service manager came out to my place and actually put it on the tractor. There was no charge for the service. Not all JD's have a number stamped in the blocks. These were on a 420 and 430 High Crops. It took probably 2 months before they came out and they are not like the original tags but at least they will verify that it is what you say it is.
