Jim, thanks for your reply! I'm not sure what the oil gauge was hooked up to, but it certainly is not the engine! Whatever it is it's right under the jackshaft opposite the larger pulley. Perhaps other engine options had an oil pump driven off the pulley and my engine is not original.
