Back in 1975 we purchased a Hydro 70 diesel new. The dealer had 3 consectutive serial numbered units in stock. That dealer had the highest percentage of Hydro sales in the Quebec-Maritime area for Harvester. Put on a Hiniker cab. For three years this was the big tractor, but it never shined at tillage work. In 1978, land expansion permitted a new 986 and a used 806. Major improvement. The 70 then got a 2250 loader. We built a complete subframe out of 1x6 flat iron, tying the front bolster to the loader to the rear axle, eliminating stress on the torque tube. With an eight foot snow bucket, an 80 IH snowblower on the back, a Turbo air precleaner, a set of Trigg ice chains as well two sets of rear wheel weights, that unit was virtually unstopable. It would out work a green 7210 4x4 (the green did not believe in chains) doing large parking lots.( side by side- boy that made greenie mad!!!) At 4500 hours I put in a sleeve and pistion set, as the old motor was getting hard to start, but the crank did not have .005 wear!!. Unfortunatly this unit was stolen from my garage in 2002, never to be found. Never touched the Hydro in 5700 hours other than Hy-Tran oil and filters every fall. Sure miss it.... QR

"Barry Seiler, owner of Country Town Farm Supply store used to invite people up to the Johne Deere store. He would give hats and a free meal for everyone that brings a tractor." Elliott said while this
