Please be careful with you instructions. You really mean run a wire from battery to solenoid - so any sparking will be well away from the battery thus avoiding or reducing any explosion risk.
Some of our less experienced readers might have a serious incident if they just follow your post verbatim.
Battery terminal of solenoid to solenoid energiser terminal would need much less wire and be safer?
