Special thanks for all the inputs. It will be around end of next week before I get to the farm to check the 140 out again. Plus now I have a owners manual and a troubleshooting flowchart. ???? The "charge indicator" on my 140(1963 model) has numbers(0-30). The charge indicator in the owners manual shows D 0 C. Is the indicator with the numbers original equipment? I'm thinking maybe someone changed it out and wired it backwards. I remember the needle went to the "charge side" when I turned the lights on. This may add the the reason I found the 6v battery in backwards.
