We use some stuff called Right Stuff by permatex. It is silicone, come is a can looks like a cheese wiz can.. I have used it to stop leaks by cleaning it good, and you can put in on the outside and it will stop a leak. Not the proper way to do it, but when you are faced with thousands to teat it down to fix compared to patching for 10.00, You make the choice.
