Wait a minute before you start thinking about repairs. Yes, white smoke means water in the combustion chamber (like has been previously mentioned. However, you said the vehicle has been siting for several months. That water could be from excessive condensation in the gas tank. Add a can of water absorber and run all that gas out (as empty as you can) then fill with good fresh gas. If the white smoke stops, you've found your problem without spending a lot of money on unnecessary repairs.
