I have an electric/hydraulic pump on my truck to run the snowplow hydraulics. Even with dual batteries, (diesel) there are times that alternator is fighting a loosing battle keeping up with the pump. Last time I had alternator rebuilt, I had technician "biggie-size" it. Putting out up to 125 amps now, and has been able to keep up with needs. Many tractor systems wouldn't be able to keep up with the needs, as they are designed to run only a few lights, and keep battery up.
