JD A plug fouling

I am having trouble with my plugs fouling on my A. I was reading where in the 60 series john deere corrected the carb issue? if i remember right so the right plug esspecially wouldnt foul. Question is can I put a 60 series carb on my A to prevent the fouling. Also any other tips to prevent fouling would be appreciated.
