Paraquat is used as a "burn down" weed control prior to planting crops by no tillage method. Also used to defoliate cotton prior to harvest. It is available today as "Gramoxone Max". It is a restricted use herbicide due to acute oral toxicity and it carries a skull and crossbones label.A private applicators license is needed to purchase it. Safe to use when precautions for use are followed as directed by label. (Use common sense.) 2,4,D is a herbicide used to kill broad leafed weeds in corn, sorghum, wheat and grass lands. It has been in use for many years. A very safe product to use as it carries only a caution label. It is found in some of the "weed and feed" lawn and turfgrass fertilizer products. Agent orange was a 50/50 mixture of 2,4,D and 2,4,5,T -a brush/woody species herbicide(no longer available). If you want to get rid of both these herbicides, check with local farmers. Chances are someone can use it- give it to them .
