Parting good tractors out.

I'm new to posting on this forum, but a long time user of ebay.

I started selling tractor parts over a year ago, parting the bad ones and saving the potential runners for the cold weather and this winter came up against the sad truth that they are worth a lot more parted out than whole.

I have 6 tractors I bought cheap ($300-600)and thought I'd get them running good, and fix the problem areas and sell them for SOME kind of profit. But at least on that format, nobody is biting. And I have seen them bring more at local auctions.

I guess I can't blame them, buying without seeing, hearing, driving is a big gamble.

So what seems to be the best way to sell? Local trader type paper? Consignment auction?

Maybe I'm too sentimental, but I hate to part out a good running tractor just to make a decent profit.
