If you'd like a $1000 project to become a $50,000 project, just let the government get involved. Several years ago, myself and a couple guys wanted to light an airport runway. Went to the government to see if they would like to help. They wanted to help in the worst way, they figured the project at about $90,000 as I recall, but with a 90/10 cost share. We went home shaking our heads about that $9000. By the next weekend we had bought used lights, new wire, made a wire plow out of a single shank subsoiler and 2 of us plowed the wire in, in one day. Another fella, came along and wired the lights for us the next day. All together, 3 of us did the whole job in 2 days and we spent less than $2000 for all the material. The government now refers to the lighting system as NONSTANDARD. LOL They sure can't say it's substandard though, we did a good job!

A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point
