On the old 855s when you raised the tailgate the drive belt loosened and the reverse belt tightened. When the gate was up the chains spit the bale off of the spring loaded bale kicker thingy on the back. I would imagine that the shaft has something to do with a baler that was equiped with Auto-Wrap. Is it on the right side?
