My Dad and a Friend of ours built a hay wagon before I came back to the farm in 1971. They used a Dodge truck frame a slant 6 dodge engine. the bed was about 4 ft off the ground with fold out wings that slanted up about 40% a convayer right down the middle and a elevater in front that slid on the ground then when you got to the barn raised up to go into the loft. or when we had to use the elevator line up with it and set it on the elevater. it held 200 bales and the driver and two good boys could move 100 bales an hr if the barn was no further than 2 miles. it had a 4 speed trans with a 3 speed behind it. It was equiped with power steering and hyds. I will add this was copyed off of a factory wagon my Dad saw at the Missouri State Fair. When we started using Big Round Bales it was more or less parked then we sold it to some boys that hauled custom.
