Hello, I know that my 63' Mack manual states if idling for a while to increase the hand throttle to about a 1000 RPMs. My new Cummins will automatically idle to 1000 depending on temp. If the engines are running cool, they do not burn all of the fuel and some may dilute the engine oil. George
