We have a 1256 that we have run hard for the last 8 or so years. Loader work and heavy field work for the first 3 years, then loader and baler for the next 2 and finally just the loader for the last 3 years. A couple of clutches and the TA finally gave up a couple years ago. All in all pretty bullet proof compared to the neighbor's loader tractors.

I would go with the 1456, a classic that is sure to increase in value over the years and a true workhorse!
