I have an 80' 2wd with a 20r in it. I'll be putting tracks on it shortly. If you wish to pull with the pickup/tractor, I'd suggest you build some sort of radius arm or ladder truss to keep the axles from wrapping the springs up. If you plan to pack much with the 3pt, either install air bags or completly lock out the rear suspension. The closer you can get the 3pt to the rear axle the better. If I knew how to post pictures on this site, I'd post one of my double ended forklift on a chevy 4x4 chassis. I cut the rear of the frame off so I could get the rear mast closer to the axle. Works 100%. If you do this, please keep us informed of the progress. I'd be very interested in your project.
