My dad has an older Thomas skid steer (Model 1006 S/N 50583)with a failing engine. We know it has a Wisconsin engine, but we can not find any identifiction/nameplate information on the engine. He bought it used decades ago and at the time we believed the engine was rebuilt. We searched the engine and could not find a nameplate. (We suspect it was removed or painted over at a previous overhaul.) Could someone please either help me id this engine or point me to a better place to look. The engine is running rough and probably needs a valvejob. Any information of what engine may interchange with this would also be helpful (as a used engine may be a more economical alternative to overhaul.) Thank you.
