Not all of the cars used in the show were Chargers. They tore them up way too fast to be able to replace them with the real thing, so they used other models that had the same body lines. Once you paint it orange and put the number 7 on the door, they all looked the same to the camera. I don't know why you couldn't do the same thing. You could buy a model with less popularity, and turn it into a charger using reproduction parts.
