The company I work for is based in TX, but we do work all over. Many years ago two of our service guys were in Marquette MI. They saw some guys fishing out on the ice and decided to walk out and see if they were catching anything. As they go closer they notice some of them had small boats. When they asked about it, the guys said in late season fishing you never knew when the ice might break so they have a boat to get back. Our guys literally ran back to the shore.
True story or tall tale, I don't know.
