When did Deutz ever use a timing belt on their 912 or 913 air cooled engines? The camshaft, injection pump and oil pump are all driven by timing gears on the front of the engine. The only belts that are used on these engines drive the cooling fan and the alternator. Unless this is someting new that Deutz has come out with, I have never seen a timing belt on a Deutz air cooled engine in the 22 years that I have worked on Deutz engines.
