Hello, I am new here, so please forgive me if I don't do this right. I just purchased a 1968 Allis Chalmers I600 with a front loader and a backhoe attachment. It's got a deisel engine that runs well & everything works great except the clutch slips when trying to scoop up dirt with the front loader bucket. I am an RV technician by trade & run my own repair service, but everything on this unit is completely foriegn to me. I do have a service manual and from what I can see, I think the problem is in the shuttle clutch. The clutch feels good in reverse (although I haven't tried it with a heavy load), but the handle feels a bit "funky" when in the forward position. I see in the manual there is a way to adjust the clutch with shims. Has anyone else here encountered this? Am I on the right track? Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Tim
