Hear them (coyotes) from time to time, sounds like a dog coming home to a den of puppies. Only lasta s minute or two, and then silence. Have gone out with a strong spotlite immediately on hearing them, never have managed to spot them. One night we were spotlighting, when an ambulance went by on the highway, three miles distant. Coyotes were answering the yelps of the siren. Very interesting... That night we heard yelps from several directions, but nothing nearby. seems as tho the pack visits this area every couple weeks or so, then drift off somewhere else. Am very worried this time of the year, as this is lambing time. Would sure hate to loose any of the little ones. Keep reminding my llamas to be vigalent!
