Hi, first, I'd like to say thanks in advance because I know you guys will give me the right answer and fast. Ok, so I haven't started my tractor in about 3 or 4 months. I run it often, but I don't work it too hard. This is the first start of the season too but I've linked the problem to the carburater. It starts easily (and it's a crank start so it better!) but once I take the choke off, it runs unevenly and then quits, unless I put the choke back on. Also, when I turn up the throttle, it would quit if I didn't put the choke back on. I'm pretty sure the problem lies in the carb, or even possibly the gas lines. Again, thanks for your help! And thanks to JMS/MN for this answer. PS: I reposted because I think there is something wrong with the carbs setting, but I'm going to do a fuel line test later. And heres JMS/MN's answer, maybe it'll help the rest to find the problem: --------------------------------- Definately not getting enough fuel if you need to choke it to keep running. Could be small dirt particles in the jets. Doesn't hurt to boil them in plain water to get passages and jets clean. Also, remove the sediment bulb assembly, find a plastic tube you can force into the inlet (part screwed into the tank), and cut the tube about an inch high. Keeps the sediment on the bottom of the tank from getting into the fuel system.
