We raise oats every year. In fact, my county, Hamilton, is the largest oats producting county for grain in Texas. We have an abundance of seed oats for 3-4 a bushel. But that is true, the grain you cut and sell for 1-2$ a bushel is resold to you at 4 a bushel at planting time. Wish the days of 3 something a bushel oats was here again, then we could make some money. Been trying to diversify, going into some beans, but with our climate it is risky every year. my 2 cents worth.
