have you replaced the spark plug wire? If it is not a wire cored wire, you cannot get fire to plug. Do you have power to both sides of coil all the time or does it come and go as the engine is turning over?. you should have 12 volts to the pos side of coil, then the voltage to the negative side of coil should go from 12 volts to o volts and back to 12 volts as you turn the engine over. Did you file points with a point file then take a clean peice of paper and clean the contacts?? If you did not use a point file, you may have corrosion causing your problems. If you did all this, it should run.
