I'm afraid it's going to get worse. Used to be, a good, customer oriented business would leave the wannabes in the dust. Nowadays, in this complex, globally competitive society, that's not enough. To be successful, you have to have:
hard work
a good product
good employees
good management and planning
common sense, equitable regulations

If any ONE of those is missing, the only way you can stay afloat is by sticking it to the customer. They're just hoping enough folks will meekly give in and not look elsewhere to keep them in business.
