Sorry, ed1, gotta disagree with you. Detergent oil doesn't clean your engine, it just keeps dirt in suspension better so it can be filtered better. Today's detergent oil is far superior to the old non detergent stuff. I think the only thing I'd use non detergent for is as an additive (in small amounts)to diesel fuel.

Benny...Go do a search in the 9N, 2N, 8N discussion board here....This is a topic that's been discussed well over a hundred times, and the consensus is to use a good multi-weight non detergent oil. If your engine is already using a lot of oil, you can go to a heavier, straight weight non detergent product.
