I think that $2000 is good deal. You will have to look it over real good for problems, and maybe have a cert. mechanic look at it too. Fords arent that bad. I had a 97 escort with 132,000 miles on it when I sold it to a used car guy for $700. There was nothing wrong with it, ran great with no problems. But I had to buy my wifes Saturn from the lease, she racked up the miles on it. I also have an old boss who had a 88 ranger with 200,000 + miles on it and he used synthetic oil in motor, trans and diff. Look at it this way, lets say the trans blows up, it is maybe $2500 for a new one and other problems might be $2000 in 2 years.
