That is one of MANY reasons we bought a discbine. We were the first in the area when they came out to get one and will never ever use a sickle type again. Our knives (about a dozen I think) are a couple bucks a piece and there is one bolt holding them on. No guards and no plug-ups! But when we did have one of those godforsaken beasts we always welded grader blade or cutting edge material on them to make 'em last longer
