I have an Oliver 1655 with Roosa master pump. This spring it would start and run well, but after a while loose power till it couldnt even move itself. If you shut it off, waited a few minutes and started it again, it would run well for a while. A neighbor told me to take the ball and spring out of the check valve on the return line, as this was likely clogging with pieces of a plastic ring in the pump that was coming apart. I did this and it ran well for awhile, but yesterday mowing hay i had trouble again. It would occasionally rev up or down a few hundred rpm on its own, and it lost power once. I noticed when it lost power it was smoking a lot. I shut it down a few minutes, started it back up and it ran well the rest of the day. Is it time for an injector pump rebuild? Thanks for any help, Josh
