My great-grandfather and my granddad farmed together near Holyoke, CO. My grandparents had a unique habit of never throwing ANYTHING away. As the years went by the farm got cluttered with disabled vehicles, machinery, and junk. It was a regular museum. I'm sure the folks in Nebraska on this site probably heard of them! Anyway, as an adolescent in the '60's I remember this d sitting by the barn with a belt hooked up to a corn sheller. Grandad hand started the thing just to shell corn. Then, a few years later it just disappeared. A collector in the general vicinity bought it from my grandad, but none of us really knew who. Then recently my cousin was talking with the guy and swapping stories and they realized he had our family tractor. He said it should go back to us and that's when my cousin called. Among other things I have retrieved and restored from the "museum" are my mom's '29 model a college car, a 70 jd, a 35 chev grain truck they bought new, a housier hutch, and a wood cook stove. Their farm was really an eyesore as junky as it was but it was great for restoration projects. I came to NC as an adult to practice dentistry...

Third Brush Generators - by Chris Pratt. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation.
