Came real close to turning one of those fawns into bambi burger a couple of years ago. Was mowing a field with the brush mower. Made about 3 or 4 rounds and on the next pass saw her just about as the front tires passed on either side of her. Shut down in a BIG hurry and backed up a couple of tractor lengths. Upon inspection it was just laying there, eyes closed, nothing moving except her nose was working overtime. I parked the tractor where it sat for a couple of hours. Came back and she was gone. I guess they're taught not to move come he!! or high water. Would have been both cases if I hadn't spotted her. IA Gary, Read somewhere just recently that whitetails and muleys can and do cross. White tail has the dominant gene.
