Since it has a 4 cyl diesel and a SOS trans that narrows it down a lot. It has to be a X01 built after 1/59 (SOS did not come out to 59) or a early 2000/4000 built to 1964. Look just to the rear of the starter. You will see 2 holes in the bell housing. Just above these holes is a flat spot where the model and serial #"s should be. Now since it is a diesel there is a good chance you will not find any #"s because they are known to leak battery acid right on the #"s and eat away at the metal wearing away the #"s. If you find this problem post back and we can date it per casting #"s. Visit the FORD board of this web site for lots more help.
