We have to use breakaway devices here In the US.. AND chains. I'd MUCH rather have the trailer chained to my truck. If you have enough tow vehicle to haul a trailer.. thent he safety chains should keep it coupled, and i don't see it flailing around wildly... I've seen plenty of truck pull over with chains draggind a trailer.. and no loss of life and very little property damage. Vs what would have happened if the trailer brok free and locked up brakes.. perhaps cutting across 4 lanes of roads... i see some loss of life occouring there. Still the breakaway device is a good last resort.. but to outlaw safety chains? I think that is a step backwars in safety evoloution... Of course.. i need to keep in mind.. this is from the place that outlaws firearms for personal self defense by law abiding citizens.. er.. subjects...... gotta keep it all in perspective I guess...
