Beautiful house David! Winter threshing in the barn was the norm before threshing machines and then combines. My great grandfather killed a panther(black phase of mountain lion)when he went to the barn to thresh grain. He swung the flail just as the cat jumped on him from a scaffold. Threshed straw was used on dirt floors and was kept in the room by a board at the bottom of the door called a threshold. Ed
