Well unless something has changed there was in the old days only 2 types of tranny fluid. One is the dexton and the other was the type A. The dexton was for the chev and dodge cars/trucks and the type A was for the ford and AMCs so the type FA should be the newer type A I know. Now heres what the label on a dexton bottle says that I happened to have. This is dexton 111
recommrnded for all trannys requiring dexron-2, 2E, 3 mercon type CJ or type A tranny fluids.
That is right off the label so you can go from there
