I don't know how you people (in England and our neighbors in the USA) feel about it, but when ever the POWERS TO BE use TAXES to control ANYTHING, it seems that after a while they can't exist with out it (they found ways to spend it), and just keep on increasing the tax on it until we SQUEEL, then they move on to license fees, New license fees, service charges, New service charges and on and on. Until we forget the TAX increase and start over. I just noticed on the news they are going to double the fine for speeding through a road construction site to the tune of $280. CDN$ what they didn't say is, there is a 25% tax on top of that for victims of crime. I have no problem with the fine, safety is #1 but why can't they make the construction co. cover the sign when no one is working and hasn't been for two - three weeks, then you or me will go at the limit + - and get a $350. fine. with sur tax.
