The serial number is hand stamped into the upper machined surface between the shifting platform (where the gearshift is located) and the steel plate that covers the rear end differential area. It is on the left side in the vicinity of the clutch pedal (when out). It's probably covered with all kinds of paint and crud so start scraping and wire brushing, you'll find it there, the letters and numbers are fairly large but not too deep into the casting.
