I bought a live trap for when they are a problem here, but I was not run over by them either. I would put several live traps out, as they will not hurt your dogs or cats around the barn. Bait the traps with canned mackeral. Stinky stuff, and cheap. If you don't have domestic pets around, standard steel traps will do great! I would then buy some CCI CB caps, for my .22 rifle. They shoot harder than a Benjamine air rifle, and are a lot quieter. 1 shot in the ear will do it. The thing about the CB caps though, they will not cycle in a semi-automatic. You have to use them in a bolt action, lever actio or pump action, that is designed for .22 shorts. My best luck is with a Marlin 39A lever action.
