Yes, I too replaced the main windows and their frames, two summers ago. In the case of our house the same guy had obviously done the two front windows, and another made the same mistake on both of the rear portals, requiring an additional 2" header installed over the main one. The window sizes were identical, though. Last summer involved replacing the upstairs windows and redoing the four dormers. I'm gutting the rest of the upstairs this summer. It doesn't make sense to go this far without putting a proper vapour barrier and insulation mat around the entire compartment. So it takes another year? I'm retired.
