Unless you're a mechanic and got lots of guaranteed acres to harvest every season and even then for less downtime and to get it done it could be just better to hire it harvested. Old machines take lots of maintainence, parts, repairs, less fuel efficient engines, all = $$$$ out of your harvest also. Those were good machines in their day but look how old they are now. For here on dryland crops where you don't know if and when you will make a crop it's not economically feasible to own a combine any longer.
