Yep...you're expecting too much at this point... I cut the extensor tendons in my right index finger on top of the knuckle where it meets the fist...Doctor kept it immobilized for ten weeks after the surgery. The stiffness took many months to get better....Never did disappear all the way. Keep exercizing it...you're doing the right things. Be happy it wasn't on your right hand. Better yet, be happy you still have a finger !!!
